no compromise.

In just one month, I've learned that attending a liberal, public college is quite an adventure. I've already met a very diverse group of students and professors, and I love it. I come from a school setting where I was surrounded by very like-minded people. At college, I'm not. My faith and beliefs are being put to work. The campus ministry I'm involved with has been a great place to go and spend time with like-minded people, but God's family is a diverse one too and it has been a blessing meeting so many different people.

I wanted to share something that's been going through my mind this week. As a freshman, I've been required to read and study a very controversial book that I have both religious and non-religious issues with. I have come to the point where I have three methods of operation: saying something and standing up for what I hold as true and right, saying what someone else wants to hear for the sake of a grade, and saying nothing at all. I know I should live out the love of Christ and be respectful of others without compromising my own beliefs. But how?

It's a sticky situation and I will never be able to navigate it on my own. But God will be my guiding light- the answer I need. I encourage you to trust in Him because no matter what situation you are in, He knows the way and will carry you through.

"No Compromise is what the Gospel of Jesus is about. For I tell you, 'No man can serve two masters...' Believers today seem to be trying to please both the world and the Lord- which is an impossible thing. When people are far more concerned about offending their friends than offending God, there is only one answer. Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Him!" - Keith Green
