a quote and a song :)

Since I haven't had time to write a post and finish uploading pictures to show you from my trip, I decided to just post one of my favorite quotes ever and a song that I've enjoyed lately. :)

"Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who dream only at night." -
Edgar Allen Poe

I really love that quote, and I'm not quite sure why I like it so much. But anyone who uses the word 'cognizant' is super cool.

This song... y'all. This song is gorgeous. Allison Krauss has an amazing voice. I really wish she could give me voice lessons some day. :)

How is your summer going? I'm enjoying studying Jane Austen novels with my friends and some awesome teachers. I also enjoy having time to spend practicing piano for hours on end. I love it. :)

Don't worry, I'll post more pictures soon. I did a vintage photo shoot with my friend while I was visiting and I most certainly will be sharing some of those photos too. ;)

hello, world

I'm sitting here on my bed with a bad cold. I always get colds during the off-season; never during the winter. So I decided to catch you up on my summer adventures! :)

I was blessed to be able to fly out to Colorado for a week just two weeks ago to visit one of my dear friends and her family. I flew into Denver, and they took me to the zoo first to celebrate her brother's birthday. :) Then, on our drive back to Aspen, we made a few stops. First, at Twin Lakes. It was beautiful there. I loved it. :)

We had a lovely picnic dinner there. And of course, I took a lot of pictures. :)

After Twin Lakes, we continued driving till we got to Independence Pass. This place was cold. Really. For a girl from Charleston where the average summer temperature is 98 degrees, a place of 40 degrees (in July!) was freezing. Thankfully, my friends took into consideration my fragile body temperature and brought a fur coat for me to wear. :P

adios, por ahora

As you read this, I am probably on a plane heading to the lovely state of.... *drumroll*

I'm off to visit my friend for a week! I am so excited. I hear Colorado is gorgeous and I know I'm going to take a lot of pictures. :) Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be blogging much , if at all, because I'm not bringing my computer. But never fear! I shall share many photos of my trip when I get back. :)

I know my last post is titled "i'm back", but I've been so terribly busy with Fourth of July activities and other things, not to mention having loads of fun with our new neighbors! ;)

Please keep me in your prayers today- it's my first time flying by myself and I'm worried about missing connections, being delayed or worse: losing baggage. Mild stress? Psh. I got some heavy stress-load going on over here. :P

Goodbye, for now. :)
