He is risen

I didn't have time to post yesterday. We had church then we went to my grandma's house for lunch, and I ended up staying till 5 giving that grandma and my other grandma a piano "concert". :) I had lots of fun though, but now I'm really sad that break is over. Oh well. Life goes on. :)

So even though it's a day late, I still wanted to share this song because I love it. Keith Green is such an inspiration. :)

Easter Song - Keith Green

Then I figured I'd share a picture of our family all fancied up in our Easter outfits. :)

From left to right, me, my Dad, my grandma, my Mom, Chloe and Grayce. :)

I hope you all had a lovely Easter!

I've been enjoying...

Spring Break.

Shopping for clothes and shoes and all that fun stuff.

Listening to radio hosted by (conservative) Dwight Schultz, who acted in one of my favorite TV shows ever, The A-Team. I can't believe I've actually been listening to a political radio show during Spring Break, and it has nothing to do with a rhetoric assignment.

Taking and passing my driver's test! I practiced and practiced and practiced, and I finally took my driver's test this morning, and I am so thankful that I passed it. I now have a conditional driver's license, which means I can drive by myself between 6am and 8pm. I am happy happy happy. :)

Cleaning out my closet. It's needed to be done for a while, and I finally have time to do it, and enjoy it. ;)

Playing Wii games. I really enjoy Mario Kart, because I remember playing it with people a lot when I was a youngster. I still have my awesome skills, so it's pretty fun because I always win.

Sleep. I love sleeping. I've been able to do a lot more of it this week, and I'm super glad about that.

Running. My Mom runs a lot, and she's kind enough to let me run with her. Even though running in and of itself isn't my favorite form of exercise, I still love it because I get to do it with my Mom, and it helps wake me up in the mornings. :)

My success at the Sudoku puzzle in the newspaper. Those puzzles are so much fun, but usually I just get stuck and give up. So I started one today, got stuck and asked my Dad for help, then somehow we got stuck and put a wrong number in and it got all outta whack, but I was able to fix it. I successfully completed it. It was a great top-off for my day.

Passing the driver's test, playing Mario Kart and solving a Sudoku puzzle makes for a very enjoyable day in Spring Break.

don't steal oranges

Happy Palm Sunday everyone!

Sorry I haven't written since a few days ago. I've been insanely busy with everything from school to company to dancing, and now it's Spring Break so I still won't have a lot of time for posting. But for now, I wanted to share a video that one of my Mom's previous science students made.

If any of you watch Julian Smith videos, he's similar to his style of comedy. I love Julian Smith's videos, so of course, I love these. This one had me laughing so hard. I was watching it later at night and I tend to laugh at things easier then, but still. Even in daylight it's funny. :P Here ya go: Don't Steal Oranges.

*waits till you return from watching video*

Hahahaha, right? Right. He's awesome. Check out his Thomson and Thompson videos too.

Short post, I know. I'm not up to typing a whole lot at the moment. I can't really think of anything else to type, either. :P

But I hope you all have a great week and a great Easter!

wise words from JC Ryle

My sister posted this quote on her blog, and I really wanted to share it. :)

"Let not newspapers, novels, and romances be read while the prophets and Apostles lie despised. Let not the exciting and licentious swallow up your attention, while the edifying and the sanctifying can find no place in your mind... Young people, give the Bible the honor due it every day you live. Whatever you read, read that first. And beware of bad books: there are plenty in this day. Take heed in what you read. I suspect there is more harm done to souls in this way than most people have an idea is possible..." -J.C. Ryle

Have a great weekend y'all!

(And happy break to you VP-ers!) ;)

just my imagination

I love this song. It's been on repeat a lot lately, and I wanted to share it with you. :) (Actually, I've had a lot of songs on repeat lately, so you can probably expect more posts like this.) :P

Just My Imagination - The Temptations

We have our cousin in town this week, so I've been pretty busy doing school and hanging out with her. We've had so much fun though! :) We'll probably be filming some of our tv show at some point this week, and that's always fun. Meanwhile, we'll be studying, playing, laughing and dressing up. :D

Thursday, April 7, 2011

Why hello there! No, I didn't forget about you. But I took a break. Mostly because we had company in town (and will for the next week), but also because I just needed a break from blogging. So, to do myself a favor, I've decided that in order to catch up with the 30 Day Challenge, I would have to do days 24 through 30, which officially makes me done with it. I need to get back to my irregular, impulsive posting method. :P So I will make my best effort to finish out the 30 Day Challenge today. Buckle up, here we go!

Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change.

The fact that television shows are such an influence on today's culture. The producers of those shows need a slap up-side their head. So many shows now are making unacceptable things acceptable by cloaking it under the title "fun". It's wrong, and it bothers me. People might not right out say "but this TV show character can do it, why can't I?" But most certainly they're thinking it. And I'm not talking about every show out there. I watch TV shows that I enjoy, but I try to avoid ones where I have to filter out 99% of the episode so my head doesn't get sick, ya know? But many shows geared towards my age group and younger are full of bad thinking. I would change that if I could.

Day 25 - A picture of your day.

The only thing missing is my computer. My day consists of books, my computer, food and sleep. Fun, right? :P I take time for walks though. I need fresh air. :)

Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you.

Even though I don't own this particular piano, I'm just using it to show that my piano means a lot to me. It has been a great blessing to have these past few months, and I am so thankful that my parents never let me stop taking piano lessons when I was younger. It has definitely paid off. Now I can play fun songs from a Cole Porter album, my Frank Sinatra anthology and many many more. :) Having a nice piano just makes it more fun to play. :)

Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member.

I don't have many pictures of just me and a family member, but I do have some of me and a few of my family members. :P This is our family when we went hiking this past summer. From left to right; Mom, Grayce, Dad, Chloe (I don't have any clue why she isn't smiling) and me. :)

Day 28 - A picture of something you're afraid of.

If you ever want me to scream really loud, or die, just put me on a roller coaster. Or show me a live roach. These bugs are called the "Palmetto Bug" for a reason. They are everywhere down here. They especially love "visiting" our homes. Usually that ends up in Abby screaming, and Dad squashing it mercilessly. I loathe these bugs. To say I'm 'afraid' is putting it mildly. Even that picture makes me nervous.

Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile.

This picture brings back good memories, and the fact that it turned out better than I would have ever expected makes me smile. :) Little Jackson (in the pic) is one of the cutest kids ever. I definitely think the picture captured his personality. :)

Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss.

My cousin. I know, I post about her a lot. But I really do miss her. We have so much fun together. We make videos. We stay up late. We listen to Justin Bieber. We watch YouTube videos. We have a blast. And right now, and I'm excited because my cousin is actually coming to visit us tomorrow!!!! Yep. Hannah, you're worth four exclamation points at the end of that sentence. ;) She lives in Michigan and we don't get to see her very much. But tomorrow, and for the next week, I'll see her every day. I can't wait! :D

Day 01- A picture of yourself with fifteen facts.

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.
Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.
Day 04 - A picture of your night.
Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.
Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.
Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.
Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh.
Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.
Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most screwed up things with.
Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.
Day 12 - A picture of something you love.
Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.
Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.
Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.
Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.
Day 17 - A picture of something that has made an impact on your life recently.
Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity.
Day 19 - A picture of you when you were little.
Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel.
Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget.(skipped)
Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at.
Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book.
Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change.
Day 25 - A picture of your day.
Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you.
Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member.
Day 28 - A picture of something you're afraid of.
Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile.
Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss.

Whooweee. That was a long post. But I'm kinda glad to be done. I'll be posting soon. I have music to share, pictures to show, and stories to tell. But for now, have a happy weekend!
